Hey there everyone, this particular blog post is now looooooong over due. Rodney and I have been so swamped with work and sessions that we had to put our personal photography accomplishments on hold so we could get caught up with all of our clients. Well the wait is over and we have been dying to share some amazing images with everyone that showcases the other side of Rodney and I, the creative and edgy side (The best part is it does not have me holding the train of a wedding dress !!!)

Let me start by setting the stage, back in March (told you its been a while) Rodney and I attend Photoshop World in Orlando. Photoshop World is basically the equivalent of the SEMA car show for Photographers. ..Only the cool kids go to Photoshop World, the rest well…..Kidding aside PSW was simply amazing and a true eye opener for us as photographers, business owners, and friends. The biggest highlight for us was the day prior to the start of PSW, we signed up for a Photo “Safari” that took place in Ybor City, just outside Tampa. What was special about the safari, besides the fact I had to learn how to say Ybor (E-Bore) was that one of our photographic Heros was teaching and hanging out…the one and only Joe McNally. Joe McNally is such a talented and seasoned photographer and we have so much respect for him we couldn’t wait to get to Ybor and hang out all day. (insert guy crush here as Rodney and I get glossy eyed thinking of Joe :) )

We started off the day by boarding a charter bus and headed to Ybor. Our 1st stop was a cigar factory where some of the finest hand made cigars are made. We even learned that the 1 and only Female Grand Master Cigar Roller in the Unites States works there (Pretty cool)

After we stopped at the cigar factory we then headed over to the largest Spanish restaurant in the United States, The Columbia. This was a fantastic location because of its architecture and lighting and on top of that we had Flamenco Dancers! The room was full of photographers and these ladies didn’t miss a step while we were attacking them with our lenses. Even through all of the caos we managed to fire off a few solid shots.

Once we wrapped up the photo session at the Columbia we were then given free roam of the land,a full 4 hours of exploring Ybor and all of its coolness. Rodney even managed to help out a tourist, pretending to be a local…camera in hand and all…

As we explored further into the city we began to meet some great people who make up the many different cultures and uniquenesses of Ybor

Then out of nowhere Rodney and I hit the jackpot, we found some models willing to be used and abused by us all for the sake of getting that one shot as the sun was going down. I think this was our favorite spot of the day as far as images go

As you can see Ybor and hanging out with Joe McNally and Moose Peterson was an absolute blast. We learned a lot, made great friends along the way, and worked with some great models. We did do some shooting throughout the week at PSW but we mostly attended classes from Joe McNally and Moose Peterson, as well as a few other industry “Big Shots” so I will leave you with one indoor studio shot that we set up at one of the vendors booth’s

Until next time…Brian

Its a YES ! Congratulations to Juan and Kristen ! Juan may just get the award for most romantic guy around but Rodney and I plan on leaving some of the details out when we tell our wives (Don’t want to look bad :) ). The proposal dinner was at the very cool Salt restaurant inside the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island. A big thank you goes out to Anastasia for all of her prep work behind the scenes to get Rodney and I up to speed on Juan’s elaborate plan and for showing us the cool inner working of the Ritz! We also want to thank Juan for asking S&R to be apart of this very special moment as well as Kristen for going along with the intrusion of the photographers taking pictures of the food prep for the hotel…never did Rodney and I imagine we would be taking pictures of snap peas !… but as we always say…whatever it takes to get the shot :)

Until next time…Brian

On Friday the 18th S&R Photography covered a very unique and exciting Fashion show. The Up and Cummers Presented the 5th annual Fashion Forward Destination at the Cummer Museum here in Jacksonville Fl. Our good friends over at Unforgettable Events were in charge of the decor and they did an outstanding  job as usual! The night was filled with tons of beautiful models strutting their stuff on the walkway for all of us to drool over :) All-n-All we had a blast covering the fashion show so here are a few of our favs from the night as well as a link to the gallery where we have all of the images from the night showcasing both the wonderful decor and the amazing models!

We hope you enjoy!

This Sunday S&R was extremely happy to take part in the Tailgate – Kick off to a Cure to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Southern Oak Insurance Company sponsored this wonderful event. We got to spend the day in the Terrace suite of the Jacksonville Jaguar’s stadium and watched the Jag’s take on the Colts. Although the Jags didn’t win the game,  all who were in attendance walked away with the feeling of winning as we were all there to raise awareness and support for Cystic Fibrosis.

This years guest of honor, Katelyn Sims, who is currently living with Cystic Fibrosis, was on hand to speak to everyone in attendance and illustrate the importance of raising awareness and finding a cure for CF.

All throughout the day we met many wonderful people who were all enjoying the great food, great auctions, and the Jags game. Before the game got started we had our own in house National Anthem sung by a very talented singer, Katie Gillard.

This weekend S&R had an awesome time shooting Jason and Taylor’s wedding on Saturday. We had a follow up with Taylor on Sunday with a rather special request for a bridal session. Taylor has just recently graduated and is now officially a Doctor. Taylor is a veterinarian and how more appropriate to celebrate her new start on life as a married woman and as a Dr. than with her beautiful horse on the beaches here in Florida. We hope you enjoy this sneak peak.

Hello everyone..I just wanted to share with you our new amazing studio sample albums. We printed one up in the traditional leather bound 10×10 (the ones we do for our brides) as well as a new product, a smaller version with a hard bound casing. Check out a few of the shots…these samples came out wonderful…we are very excited and prod to show these off to all of our clients. Rodney and I even made a last minute decision to add in some images form some very recent sessions…and we are very happy we did!

Until next time…Brian

Hey guys, here is a sneak peak of our studio session with Tatiana….We haven’t had a chance to process all the images yet but this one we had to share! Thanks again to Tatiana, you were a delight to work with and your images are beautiful!

Stay tuned as we update this post later in the week !

This past Friday S&R got to photograph an amazing youg lady, Tatiana. Tatiana and her family are celebrating a very important milestone in her life, Quinceañera. The Quinceañera is a celebration of a young lady becoming a woman and both Rodney and I were more then delighted to take part in this special time and document it with our photography.

We decided to put a small twist on Tatiana’s photo session by giving her an Urban modeling session followed up by a beautiful elegant shoot at Epping Forest where Tatiana wore an amazing gown that she looked beautiful in. Oh and don’t let me forget to tell you how hot is was!!!…108 was the heat index!! Tatiana was a topper putting up both the heat and our antics for getting the shots

We hope you enjoy these images and stay tuned as we bring you part 2 of Tatiana’s shoot…our studio session!
