Hey there everyone, we are back with another amazing blog featuring one of our amazing couples, Linda & Kevin. These two are just about as fun as a couple can get. A few weeks back Rodney and I shot their engagement session out on Jacksonville Beach, this time we are back, subtract out the waves and seagulls, and add in a beautiful church, wild friends and family, and you end up with one amazing wedding ! (I didn’t mention the epic remake of “Thunder” by ACDC, and Warren G stopped by as well….those images speak for themselves:))

After the beautiful ceremony, Both Linda and Kevin realised that it was now time to celebrate and party it up. They first got things started with a “Gator Chomp”. Rodney was so excited to be near Gator fans that he started them down the path of Gator calls.

Before the reception we captured a few more shots of just the two of them and I think we got what we were looking for :)

Ah, Patsy and Lance.  I don’t believe I mentioned this in their engagement post, but Lance and I were frequently mistaken for each other back in the day.  Oh, and I’ve known Lance since like ‘95.  I don’t think I mentioned that either :-)

So yeah, this turned out to be a reunion of sorts…I saw A LOT of people I haven’t spoken to in a while.  Do I still look like Lance?  Perhaps not so much now, but maybe enough to be a stand-in for some pics if he needed a bathroom break.  It didn’t come to that…I’m just saying it was possible.

Anyways, St. Joseph’s is a popular church for S&R weddings this year, and this time the temps were above freezing.  Patsy provided us plenty of time for prep and group pics, even BEFORE the ceremony began.  How cool is that?  An absolute rarity in today’s smash and bash weddings…and a welcome change from our recent shoots.

The afterparty was at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, a first for S&R…and one of the largest guestlists to boot.  Again, we were blessed with overcasts, so shooting the columns out front wasn’t too challenging.  The light wrapped around nicely, and provided soft shadows.  Had to throw in some remote flash on some of the group shots to balance the exposure, but nothing too crazy.

And speaking of crazy…enter the bridal party.  But like cool crazy…not like mentally unstable crazy.  That came later… (read: alcohol) :-P

So, another fantastic reception hanging out with old friends.  What more could a photographer ask for?  Perhaps another ass-out shot?  Yeah, no such luck. :-(

Congrats to Pasty and Lance!  And of course, look for Lance and me to star in the remake of Double Impact, Memorial Day 2011.

Part 2 of S&R’s crazy weekend found us at the Ritz-Carlton of Ameila Island.  A fantastic wedding venue; perfectly suited for Juan and Kristen.  Now S&R has been grateful to photograph this couple from proposal to vows, and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it.  And if you’re ever fortunate enough to meet them, you’ll immediately understand why.

Now both the ceremony and reception were on the green, under the midday sun.  But luckily for us, there was plenty of thin cloud cover to soften the light…which made our jobs much easier.  The heat still came through, though, so our suit jackets didn’t make it to the wedding.

Speaking of light, we all know that window light is perhaps among the best you can use to light your bride (or ANYTHING for that matter).  And the Ritz had PLENTY of it.  Add in the aforementioned clouds and we have ourselves the perfect softbox.  Now add in a gorgeous bride and you have the easiest portait gig ever.  Next to impossible to get a bad shot.  Seriously.  And as an added bonus, they didn’t even need much convincing to take some pics on the beach afterwards!

It doesn’t get much easier than this, folks.  And we have nobody but Juan and Kristen to thank for that. :-)

Hey everyone…as promised back in Jan here is the Wedding of Andrea & Paul, Rodney and I were really excited to finally cover this awesome wedding that was held at Palm Valley Gardens in Ponte Vedra Beach, ceremony held at the old church of St. Joe’s. Despite the rain, cold, and missing flowers (Yikes!) Rodney and I were able to get some fantastic shots of these two. I knew were were gonna have fun the second we walked into the reception area and Frank Sinatra was playing :) ….I should also prob mention that Andrea and Paul had 22 total in their wedding party which made for an exciting evening! Take a peak at a few of our favorites and be sure to visit Palm Vally Gardens if you haven’t, its an awesome venue to have your reception at
